EXPOSED: Elder - Entry #55

EXPOSED: Elder
Entry #55

1.) Absolute Etymology Facts
English “elder” from Old English *ealdor* (c. 900 AD) “older one, chief, parent,” from *eald* “old.”
Later used in church contexts to translate Greek *presbyteros* “older man, elder.”
Originally meant simply an older person with experience and authority in a clan or tribe.

2.) KITVEI HaKodesh Context and Definition
The pure Ancient Abrayi word is **Zaqen** (זָקֵן) — “bearded one, old man of wisdom.”
Pure context: YAH appointed Zaqenim as humble leaders and advisors to Moses (Shemot 18:13-26; Bamidbar 11:16-17). In the Renewed Covenant they are mature, faithful men who serve, teach, and watch over the assembly without lording (Titus 1:5-9; 1 Kepha 5:1-5 — “not domineering… examples to the flock”). It is never a lifelong title — it is a function of humble wisdom and service.

3.) Pagan Ties
Direct tie to **Roman Senate** (from *senex* “old man”) — the council of “elders” who ruled Rome with absolute power, worshipping pagan gods and controlling the empire.
Greek **Gerousia** — official council of elders in Sparta and other city-states that enforced pagan laws and rituals.
Catholic-Christian twist: “Elder” became a formal church office with voting power, boards, and hierarchy — exactly the pagan elder-council system.

4.) Language TWISTS
Translators replaced the humble Hebrew **Zaqen** (wise older servant) with an English title rooted in Roman political power.
English Bibles turned YAH’s servant advisors into a vague “elder” that now means church board member, decision-maker, or titled official.
Result: readers chase elder boards, votes, and status instead of humble service under YAH.

5.) Pagan Myths as EMET (Truth)
Roman Senators and Greek Gerousia were never myths — they were real councils of “elders” who ruled with pagan authority, made laws, and offered sacrifices that replaced YAH’s pure wise servants.
Serpent 🐍 deception exposed: in the Garden the enemy twisted YAH’s firm word (“Did YAH really say?” — Bereshit 3).
At Babel men sought their own elders and names through false unity.

6.) **EXPOSED** “ELDER” is another sneaky Roman-Senate-term (senex / Gerousia of pagan rulers) that masquerades as a holy office while feeding the same Baal/Babel false-council system YAH hates most — hiding the pure, humble Zaqen of the Scrolls that only YAH can raise up to serve His people.
